June 10, 2024 – Let’s Go! Fairhope
You’re hearing it here first, folks! Let’s Go Fairhope has learned that a group of talented young men are holding a free, “donations-appreciated,” family-friendly event including a snow-cone truck, bounce house, and live music on Friday, June 28, 2024, 5:30-10 PM at 9879 Vance Lane in Fairhope. Tickets are not required.
In an exclusive phone interview with Luke Puckett, bass player for the band “Mama Said No,” we got the inside scoop on this exciting upcoming event:
Puckett and the band’s drummer, Isaiah Faehnrich, both 17 years old, along with Isaiah’s brother Matthias Faehnrich, 21, Lead Guitar, make up the group. This is not the band’s first concert. According to Luke, the group has played open-mic nights in Pensacola and even hosted a charity fundraiser for an equine therapy pavilion at Whaley Ranch in Robertsdale.
Mama Said No’s public relations assistant, AJ Macaro, said the secret to the band’s success is their strong friendship. “The group has been friends for many years; they actually started out playing music together for their church.” When asked about getting their start, Luke Puckett said, “We’ve all always loved music and we decided ‘We are going to be in a band,’ so we started learning instruments. It took a while, but it helped that we were friends first.”
Luke explained the band was on hiatus for a while as Matthias recently got married, but now the group is ready to play full time. “We want to throw a show to kick off the fact that we’re back and are even looking to go pro.” There will be merch including t-shirts and stickers for sale at the event. The band’s friend Seth Jenkins will be opening for them.
Nirvana, Green Day, Blink 182, and the Killers are some of the self-taught musicians’ influences towards their strength in 90’s sounds. Enjoying many different bands in the Alternative Rock and Indie genres, the group also throws back to classic 60’s tunes and performs both covers and original compositions.
It will be standing-room-only at the stage inside the barn, but the group envisions attendees enjoying the event both inside and outdoors.
As for the name of the band, the honor is credited to Mrs. Faehnrich. ; ) You’ll have to attend the event in order to get the story on THAT fun part, but let’s just say Mama Said No looks like big YES for everyone on June 28!
